GPS modules based on new chip MT3339

Maritex has extended its offer for GlobalTop GPS modules utilized MediaTek new generation chipset MT3339. These modules have improved sensitivity and ultra low power. They attend a number of new functions.

Company brochure highlits these functions and shows module comparison table, that simplifies choosing of modules according to client’s needs.

FGPMMOSL3C module is pin-to-pin compatible to popular FGPMMOSL3.

New functions embedded:

Anti-JAM - multitone active interference canceller,
EASY - embedded assist system for quick positioning (self-generated orbit prediction for instant positioning fix) - GPS engine will use this information for positioning if no enough information from satellites,
Data Logger - embedded logger function, without use of external CPU and flash memory; data logging up to 2 days,
AlwaysLocate - advance power periodic mode.

GMM-U2P module is successor of GMM-U1. It support all the functions as above, additionally has timer function.

Both modules support AGPS and DGPS, sensitivity -165dBm, update rate up to 10Hz, interfaces 2 x UART, 1PPS signal available.

In the nearest time Maritex will introduce FGPMMOPA6C module with MT3339, successor of FGPMMOPA6B.

TFT panels from Formike

Maritex company has extended its offer for TFT panels from Formike.

We offer wide range - from 1.8" to 10.2" - of digital and analog displays. All panels are equiped with white LED backlight.

A thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) is a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality (e.g. addressability, contrast). TFT LCD is one type of active matrix LCD, though all LCD-screens are based on TFT active matrix addressing. RS232-Bluetooth adapters

Maritex offers RS232-Bluetooth adapters.

RS232 converter allows any device with RS232 port to communicate with Bluetooth devices. Adapter is Class 1 devices (18dBm). It communicates up to 100 metres with up to 460.8Kps speed. Our RS232 Adaptor can be powered by the following methods: DC Power supply, PC USB Port through USB cable, Pin 9 of DB9 connector.

Serial to Ethernet modules from Xecom

Maritex offers the XE232NET Serial to Ethernet Bridge modules from Xecom. This is the simplest way to add Ethernet connectivity to an embedded system. Each XE232NET module includes the 10Base-T MAC and PHY as well as TCP, IP, DHCP, POP3 and other protocols. A simple command and control system uses modem-like AT commands.

New VFD types in Maritex's offer

Gray-scale display is capable of displaying 16 levels of gray-scale for each dot. By combining this with a gray-scale capable VFD, beautiful gray-scale display is possible.

The controller that has been developed on this occasion has 8-bit parallel and SPI interfaces. The gray-scale level, depending on the setting, can be 2-level, 4-level, 8-level, or 16-level – four step levels are available.

The memory for the display is also embedded in the controller. For a 256x64-dot display, this can handle data for a single screen in the case of 16-level gray-scale, or data for four screens in the case of 2-level gray-scale.

By connecting serial flash ROM, font data and graphic data, etc can be loaded. The loaded data can be displayed by a command transferring it to the display memory.

As the first product, the 256x64-dot, 0.65mm dot pitch GU256X64F-A002 has been released, and products with different dot configuration and dot pitch, etc, are planned to be added to the lineup.

VFD module with RGB LED backlight: RGB LEDs are set underneath the translucent VFD, which is made with transparent rear glass, and the backlighting from the LEDs illuminates through the VFD.

This display can be use as eye-catching attention. Emitting red light from the background, it’s also perfect for displaying an important warning. This product can lead to unique and new application ideas.

The VFD’s rear glass diffuses LED light. Uniformity of the emitted light is not as essential as it is with LCD backlighting, so a diffusion film is not used.

A special laser process is performed on the light guiding plate to spread the light emitted from the LEDs, efficiently, to the whole display area.
